What is a substitute for cream cheese?

I buy a product called Kefir Cheese, which I think is really a yogurt more drained than 'Greek.' It keeps well, spreads well.

Well it depends on the recipe? The obvious ones are Neufchatel and Mascarpone which are both basically cream cheese. But other possible options could be tofu, goat cheese, ricotta, vegan/vegetarian cream cheese. If you expanded upon what you are supposed to be using the cream cheese for it would be easier to discuss a proper substitute.
