About Us
Founded in 1928 by Elsie Seeger Barton, the Baltimore Humane Society is an independent 501c3 nonprofit, receiving no governmental operating funds or support from national humane organizations like HSUS or ASPCA. We strive to better the lives of homeless animals through adoption, outreach, and community engagement. Baltimore Humane Society offers services for all stages of pet companionship, working diligently to help animals through medical treatment, behavioral training, and placement into loving homes. The clinic provides low-cost spay, neuter, vaccine, and wellness services to the public. The Bmore Kind Pet Food Bank provides pet food for owners facing financial insecurity. The award-winning memorial park offers a final resting place for beloved pets and bereavement support and grief counseling for pet owners.
