PROS: Hotel has been recently remodeled and looks almost new. Finishes are modern. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was well apportioned with an actual door (not one of the trendy barn doors). Curtains were near blackout. Large Smart TV. Nice refrigerator. Decent closet space. Location is adjacent to one subway line’s stop and a block away from another line’s stop giving easy access to the entire island. It’s also a quick walk to Times Square (don’t stay on Broadway if you want to fall asleep) and a there’s plenty of dining options within a few blocks. Communication with the hotel was easy via text and they were really helpful stowing luggage for us.
CONS: Some minor annoyances like sticky closet doors, and a buggy TV were specific to the room and hopefully they work those out. While the location is great for a lot of things, it is next to a fire station. A very busy fire station. If you’re on a high floor or possibly on the back side of the hotel, it might not be a problem but the sound insulates windows in our lower floor room let a lot of the siren noise though. A mixed blessing was the noisy A/C unit. It is not a window unit but still was loud enough to make watching TV a challenge. It did help drown out the siren though.
