Beautiful Hotel located in Monterey, Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the hotel was a little bit older and unfortunately the hotel did not have a gym at the hotel location despite the high price of the room.

Our room was next to the elevator and some onsite construction that was often very loud and started early in the morning. Other than that, we had a good stay. Enjoyed the included breakfast, comfortable bed and sheets. It was a fairly large room for two so that was a nice surprise!

AC did not work. Shower was dirty when we showed up. We asked for towels and it took over an hour to get them. You can hear EVERYONE that walks by your room, the cleaning staff, the people above you and next to you. And we paid for luxury room and our balcony hit a random parking garage. Night staff was very rude when we addressed some of the issues. He didn’t seem to care and gave us attitude. Pictures of hotel are deceiving.

This is definitely not the worst hotel I’ve stayed at but not the best either. It’s a decent cheap option that’s close to downtown. The hotel itself needs a little love though. It’s starting to get a little rundown and needs a rehab. The grounds were somewhat unkept with trash on the ground, there was a lot of hair in the hotel room (which is a huge pet peeve of mine) and the road noise was pretty pound throughout the night. The positives are that the rooms are very spacious, there’s a gas fireplace in the rooms and the location is pretty decent if you plan on spending a lot of time downtown. I’ve stayed at quite a few hotels in this area and this would be towards the bottom of the list. Spend a little extra money and stay at the Portola instead.

I stayed here for my birthday weekend and before I even notified them of the occasion they upgraded my room for me. Then a call was placed to the property notifying them of my birthday and they brought a hand written card, chocolates, and sparkling water to my room as a gift. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. The property is about a 7 min walk from a shopping area with a variety of stores and a 10 min drive to the mall.

The room was ok. The bathroom door was broken and there were holes in the bathroom walls. Wall patches were haphazard and the air conditioning didn’t work. The tv was also difficult to operate and defaulted to static. The staff was very friendly and the location is great.
