About this property

Oceanfront Luxury Home

Located on Morris Island , one of the most desirable areas in Chatham, sits this impressive home on 2 acres of prime oceanfront real estate. The panoramic oceanview of Nantucket Sound and Monomoy Islands is nothing less than awesome... and the sunsets are sublime. This 5000 square foot fully air conditioned contemporary home has an open , airy feel to it, with enough room for a large group to comfortably co-exist (be sure to check out my website for a complete virtual tour). The home is stylishly appointed with an Asian feel to the decorum.

Wake up in the morning to the sounds of songbirds and the sights of white tail deer gracefully moving through the grass. After breakfast on the deck you might go for a hike on the trails of Monomoy National Refuge that adjourn the property or if it's low tide, why not dig some cherrystone clams or quahogs for your linguine...or better still (but a little more work digging!), dig up some 'steamers' for that lobster barbeque you've been drooling about? If you fish, you can 'shore cast' in an area known for it's bass and 'blues'. It's all out your back-door. Literally.

With 5 large bedrooms and 4 bathrooms,2 large 'great rooms' with big screen HD TV, 2 powder rooms,3 full baths and one half bath ,2 sitting rooms and 2 dining rooms, a large and fully equipped kitchen, mudroom and laundry room, this home is the ideal setting for a family gathering or reunion.

Enjoy sunbathing or barbeque on the deck....or just take a walk out the back door for a jaunt on any one of the many trails adjourning the property that are all part of Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge. Like to fish? No need to get into a boat, some of the best bass & shellfishing is right here, a short 5 minute walk away!

Fabulous location
One of the best locations in Chatham. Stunning views, with a great beach right out the door. Wonderful and sunny deck. The house is very interesting with a great layout for a family. The house could use some upkeep and freshening up. Screen door had duct tape holding it together, and the grill didn't work. If you're looking for the perfect spot in Chatham this is hard to beat.

Disappointing
Not very clean, no paper towels or dishwasher soap which I had to go out and buy. Property was run down and in dire need of attention. Duct tape on screens. Cobwebs everywhere . We were extremely disappointed.

Nice private location, but unfortunately the house doesn't match the luxury category or price tag
View from home is outstanding. Property location is excellent with a quiet private beach area. Nice view sitting along the beach. Shallow water is fine for wading (not swimming). The home is spacious for a large group but be aware it only sleeps 10 not the 12 listed when we rented. 5 BR with QU/DB beds, but no other sleep sofas. We had 12 in our party we brought air mattresses. Although spacious, we were disappointed in the house. It was marketed as a "luxury home" and is priced accordingly, but the house is generally run down and not maintained. The deck screen sliders barely can roll and screens holes taped & you'll keep the glass doors closed to avoid hassles with screen. The owners were obviously having issues with the central air (but never said a word to us prior/during the stay) and we arrived to a portable A/C unit setup in the Master BR with a vent hose going through an open window covered with plastic film. The hose kept popping out of the plastic which would quickly overheat the room to +90F if you weren't there to catch it. Unfortunately most windows in the MBR don't open and so it is difficult to open the windows at night and skip the AC. There are many cobwebs throughout the interior and aside from the wooden furniture in the kitchen area, most of the furniture is old/dusty. Although we know other people have rented this summer, you might think you were the first guest in a long time. There is a big deck on the home, but the deck furniture is old/rusty with bent metal frames and random thin (and beat up) cushions. The furniture inside the house is really beat up and worn (especially bed mattresses), probably what you would expect in a cheap beach rental, not a luxury home at this price. The owners personal belongings are very prevalent in the house which a little surprising (e.g.: their coats and shoes in entry way from garage/personal items in lots of drawers) which was very odd. To get the beach chairs or kayaks included with the rental you are climbing over stacks of junk in the garage (old toilets, AC units, old lawnmowers, etc) Bottom line: This is a great location with a disappointing house maintained like a low end beach house, not the luxury home they market it as and charge you for.

spacious living with a beautiful view
The house is very interesting and lots of space. Two of the air conditioners did not work. I reached out to the owner, she was not responsive. Finally, she said there were a few fans. This would have been fine, but it was our daughter's wedding. If she had let us know ahead of time, we could have figured things out. It was disappointing.

Perfect house for family week
House was absolutely perfect for our extended family vacation week on the cape. We had 4 separate couples and 1 baby and were all able to have our own space and come together to enjoy the kitchen and huge deck. The deck is very sun filled and a great place to relax, as well as the fire pit at night. Anne was a wonderful host and easy to communicate with. Small warning that the conservation land has a lot of ticks. We preferred to use the path right down the road which was a big wider to access the beach.
