Family time
Great house for all ages.. love that there is a downstairs master as my 88 years young mother was with us.. plenty of room to spread out and enough seating for everyone to congregate! Well stocked kitchen with enough of everything for our family of 7. Highly recommend this home away from home. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our week's vacation. The host was so helpful and provided everything we needed. The area was very quiet and the property well maintained. The weather was perfect during our stay, so that was a plus! Many thanks to the host!

Joy Ranch cabin review.
The property was very clean upon our arrival. It was very spacious as well. Every thing we needed was present for dining. The ping pong table was great and we even had a competition. The only negatives I can think of was the driveway was a bit scary when turning in after dark and the description of the cabin indicated a jacuzzi. We could not find it until we realized it was the tub in the downstairs bathroom. Overall, I would give this a 4 out of 5. We had a great time and enjoyed exploring some of the small nearby towns.

I'm a Purdue graduate. I love nature and like to hike. I experienced mother nature's impact on my healing, vitality, and creativity. It charges my body, calms my mind, soothes my soul, and inspires my sense of awe.

Why they chose this property

We are family of four living in Cary, NC. Our favorite family activity is hiking. We travel near and far to visit national and state parks and various trails. Two kids have collected many Junior Range badges. As the kids grew older and got busier with schools and activities planning a long trip became less practical. We decided to find a place close enough for a weekend getaway. After a long period of searching, we found Joy Ranch Cabin. It was by no means what it looked like now. We spent the next eight month traveling back and forth as the cabin undertook a complete transformation. Special thanks to Kim and Robert from Due West for all the hard work on the cabin, Brian and Marvin for graveling the driveway, and many others who made our dream come true.

I was on the phone with an operator while driving to pick up kids from swimming practice one evening. While waiting for a transaction we started chatting. I asked her when her shift would be over. She said "Almost, it has been a long day. Would be nice if I were at a place next to woods by myself and not have to think what's next..." Her words resonated with me. It would be nice if we were able to share our cabin with others while we were not occupying it, allowing others to enjoy time spent at the cabin to wind down, get refreshed, recharged, reunited with friends, family, and mother nature, and find their true selves.

What makes this property unique

On a summer afternoon, my girl dressed in a sky blue skirt sitting on the swing at the front porch while I was reading a book to her. A blue-greyish butterfly flew by, perched on a string of the swing, and gently flapping its wings. Cool mountain breeze suddenly whispered its way through trees, caressed my girl's long black tresses, and startled the tiny blue wings. Before I could capture the moment, it was gone. We stained the swing in blue.
