The top half of the light-filled 2,000 square foot "Ameer" was built in 1910. But the houseboat is fully modern, complete with a top-end stove, built-in Sub-Zero refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, high speed wi-fi, and Sonos music system.
Start your stay by walking onto the large deck and stopping to admire the unobstructed views of San Francisco Bay, Belvedere/Tiburon, and the nearby sailboats. In the distance you see San Francisco and the Bay Bridge. You then enter the historic living room with its slab wood table, exotic art, and comfortable sofa and chairs. Next is the fully equipped wood-paneled kitchen with its antique stained glass window, and the Captain’s Room with a double bed tucked into an alcove. At the back of the top floor is the office/guest room with its views of the Marin Headlands. It has a queen-size sleeper sofa (a high quality sleeper sofa, where you sleep on a wooden platform not soggy springs), large workstation, and lots of light. There is also a toilet and full bathroom with great views from the large tub.
Downstairs is a large den, with a large flat screen TV, DVD player, antiques, and more exotic art. There is then another toilet and bathroom with a large stall shower, large walk-in closets, and the master bedroom with its queen-size teak bed, deluxe foam mattress, and down comforter.
Outside there is a large deck with a six-person dining table – perfect for your morning coffee, meals, or sunset cocktails – as well as a BBQ gas grill and heat lamp. There are also three kayaks that you can take to visit the nearby harbor seals: a two-person kayak, a single kayak and a pedal kayak!
