About this property

Stunning views, Wildlife, Private, Fireplace.

AWD needed during winter months. Road to cabin plowed, but can get icy.

Amblin' Deer Cabin is back! It took a break from short term rentals from 2020 until now, so the calendar is very open for the summer! Book now!

The Amblin' Deer Cabin (Reg #3103) is a 1930's warm and cozy, slightly rustic cabin, surrounded by pines, in-town, yet private location on 0.8 acres with views out to Lumpy Ridge and filtered views through the pines of Lake Estes. No close neighbors. 1800 sq ft cabin with views out every window! Amblin' Deer Cabin has a formal living room with a fireplace, a second living area with a large screen TV, and a private patio area off the kitchen / dining with views out to Lumpy Ridge and seating for 8 people, so there are many places to spread out or congregate inside and out.

The outdoor patio includes seating, and a lot of sky for star gazing on the beautiful Colorado evenings.

The kitchen is quaint and is fully stocked and equipped with full size appliances including dishwasher and garbage disposal to enable you to cook all your meals in the comfort of the cabin. Open to the dining room with all of its spectacular views, the cook doesn't have to miss out on cabin life or the views while cooking up a masterpiece.

The cabin has 3 good sized bedrooms--one with a King bed, one with a Queen, and one with two full-size beds. Each bedroom has ample closet space for stowing your clothes and outdoor gear. The bedroom and dining furniture has been custom made for each room using cedar and pine logs.

There are two bathrooms on the main level. The main bathroom has a jetted bath with shower to enjoy after a long day of hiking or walking the town. The second bathroom also includes a bath and shower.

Wildlife visit the cabin frequently. It is very common to see mule deer and elk year round, with rabbits, chipmunks and ground squirrels during the warmer seasons. You are close enough for a 20 minute walk down the hill to town with spectacular views on the way. The roads up to the cabin are plowed in winter, and the home has parking for three vehicles.

All linen and towels are provided. High chair, Pack 'N Play (bring crib sheets), and baby gate are available for your little one. WIFI. Non-smoking. Propane gas grill provided.

If you have any questions you are welcome to email and we will do our best to look after you so you have a wonderful stay in Estes Park.

Quiet home just above the town
This place wasn't too far off the beaten path, but just far enough that one might feel secluded. Everything was stocked and clean. Would consider staying here again in the future.

Would repeat
Convenient location. Private, quiet and peaceful. Roomy, except for the kitchen. My adult sons who stayed in the room with two beds, commented on them being "noisy". Overall, a clean and comfortable place to stay, would stay there again.

Amblin Deer cabin was wonderful!
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The location has a great view and you still feel secluded. There was plenty of space for my family of six adults. We had an emergent situation that the property manager dealt with quickly and cheerfully. Would definitely stay there again. The only minor suggestion I would make is to replace the beds in that middle room. They could be a little noisy when you move around. lol Overall, marvelous property!

We have been using Homeaway and VRBO for years and know what vacationers really want in a vacation rental.

Why they chose this property

We have been going to Estes Park on vacation for a few years and have been on the look out for a vacation home that we can also return to. We fell in love with Amblin' Deer Cabin. The first time we visited the property we were met by a family of deer, and every time we have returned they have come back to see us on a daily basis.

What makes this property unique

The cabin has a lot of space, a lot of light, and a lot of views! The bedrooms are separated from each other in such a way as to afford a sense of retreat, while the common areas are great for coming together. The original Colorado rose sandstone fireplace is one to behold with the stone most likely quarried from the nearby historic Buster Quarries down the hill near Lyons--in operation since the late 1800's. Together with the knotty pine walls and comfy chairs, this room is one of our favorites to enjoy, especially with a fire and a glass of something nice to sip in the quiet of the evening.

Next, you just can't beat the dining room with its wall of windows and beautiful custom-built reclaimed wood and cedar dining table. The table top and skirt were made using shiplap siding and rafters rescued from a 1900-era home that was being demolished, while the legs are large cedar logs. Whether it's blue skies and sunny, or cloudy with a gentle falling snow, the open views from the dining room of mountains and pines is good for the soul in all kinds of weather.

The custom-built bedroom furniture also adds to the unique charm of the cabin. In fact, the headboard posts of the king bed were made from a dead pine on the property, and the side tables were made using the same reclaimed wood and cedar as the dining table.

Finally, we love the patio area. With terrific views of the night sky and the surrounding mountain ridges, cool rock outcroppings, and privacy, this is another place to just soak in the surroundings, relax, and spend time with special friends and family in the majestic beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
