About the host
Hosted by Sue Miller
My husband David and I currently live in Calgary Alberta Canada - about 8 hours drive away from Sandpiper Beach House. We enjoy our time in Osoyoos in the spring and the fall (picture of me at the helm of our sailboat on Osoyoos lake in front of Sandpiper Beach House), then return to the Rocky Mountains in the summer and the winter. It's a great way to combine the best of both worlds. We're happy to know that Sandpiper Beach House will help make happy memories for others while we're in Calgary.
Why they chose this property
We often traveled to Osoyoos in the spring when our Calgary winter seemed endless. We were amazed to see fruit trees in blossom in early April and fell in love with the desert surroundings. When we saw The Cottages on Osoyoos Lake we were excited to be able to own a home with so much sun, a few steps from a sandy beach - and warm water - something we don't have in Calgary at any time of year! We plan on retiring here in a few years. in the meantime it's a great place to relax and enjoy life for a few weeks every year.
What makes this property unique
This house is uniquely located so we see the beach and are only a few steps from the water. The master and second bedroom have beautiful views of the water, and we love the screened porch - which backs onto a large grassed meadow. The house is positioned so both sun and shade are easily-found and if there is wind in the backyard the front patio offers shelter and great beach views. There is usually a lovely warm breeze and the birds provide great background music. The open plan feels really spacious and the community is beautifully landscaped with walking paths through-out. Oh and there are two pools and a hot tub too!
