Perfect setting on the east side of Lake Victoria to enjoy this beautiful home and take in the gorgeous summer sunsets on the dock or on the large wraparound deck. This fantastic, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home features a master bedroom on the main level, a beautiful bonus sitting/eating area overlooking the lake, a full finished basement, and an upstairs sleeping area.

There is a dock available for tying a boat off and great fishing on this fabulous chain of lakes. There is also a children's playset and many fun things to do in the Alexandria Area.

Nice place, needs some renovations

The place itself is very nice, but it is old and it shows. The main level is very nice but property could have been cleaned better as we had bugs everywhere and found a dead cockroach under a couch. Also would recommend for the property manager to get more basic cooking supplies in the rental (salt, pepper, oil) as we’ve had these provided previously at other stays as well as sending out an electronic version of the welcome binder prior to arrival as there were things in there we didn’t know and had to run errands after arriving. Also were missing the cushions for the patio furniture so they were unusable (make sure to bring camping chairs). Yard is small and doesn’t leave much room for games. We probably won’t stay here again unless renovations and improvements are made to fix the bug problem, especially in the basement, and cleaning up/improving the backyard.

On the lake close to bike trails

We had a lot of fun on lake Victoria! This house suited our family well. The three younger kids slept upstairs in the three twin beds our oldest daughter slept in the basement bedroom my husband and I had the main floor bedroom and our two-year-old was in the pack and play in the downstairs living room. Everyone was very comfortable. It was a lot of fun to keep our boat docked right outside the house, we also kept our kayaks outback and would lower them in from the dock when we wanted to go. There is a small park just a minutes walk or bike ride from the house, we liked to go there to play yard games and the younger kids enjoyed playing on the slides. It was also nice that it was just a five minute bike ride to the biking paths, which led anywhere you wanted to go, we took them to city Park and played there several times. It was also fun to boat through the channels to other lakes, we boated over to Zorbaz one day for lunch, probably took about 15 - 20 minutes to get there. The stairs going both up and down are extremely small and steep, beware if anyone has balance issues or for really young kids.

Difficult landscape

We really enjoyed the house. Very clean. Air conditioner worked Great! Always had hot water for ALL 8 of us showering. Our biggest dislike was the hill to the water. Quite dangerous. No steps down to the dock. Had to walk down very carefully. The cement steps right by the dock were uneven and broken. Not safe to use. The firepit was on the hill, so couldn't sit 'around' it, or the person with their back to the water would fall backwards towards the water. The steps to get to the house from the parking lot were in disarray. We caught ALOT of sunfish. Had a lot of water fun. The big deck was enjoyed by all.

Summer week at the cabin

We had a great time. Beautiful lake views and spacious deck to all be together. Loved the sun porch with windows on 3 sides to let the lake breeze flow through.

Family vacation on lake Victoria

Our group enjoyed our time on lake Victoria. The property was clean and accommodating. The kitchen was well stocked, we had everything we needed to make meals for our group of 9 (adults and kids ages 8-13). I will say, the wood floors are a bit squeaky and the main bathroom door sticks a little making it difficult to be quite when others are sleeping. As others have said, the stairs (both upstairs and to the downstairs) are steep so not as suitable for very young kids or those with mobility issues. The backyard has a hill down to the lake as well. The location is great! It’s located in a circle in a nice quite neighborhood with a nearby park. Very close the Alexandria, surrounding activities, restaurants, etc. We also enjoyed walking to the nearby walking / biking path that takes you right into town. Unfortunately, the lake water was low (we realize this is out of their control) making the dock unusable with our boat. It’s also quite weedy off the dock for swimming, but we had a Lilly pad that we were able to anchor a little further out so we made it work. The lake itself was fairly quite, not too many out boating or jet skiing making it too busy. We were a little disappointed that the yard wasn’t more suitable for our yard games. Also, parking two vehicles and a boat trailer was a little tricky, but again we made it work and the neighbors didn’t seem to mind our vehicles. Property Manager was accessible and responsive, we had one question and he personally stopped by to answer and check in. Overall, we had a great vacation!
