Enjoying the best position and views of all the Peninsula Cottages, the cottage comprises a living room with 2-seat sofa,-bed, (for that extra one night guest), 2 leather arm-chairs and 32" Freeview TV / DVD. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering with breakfast bar / diner for 4. The modern white bathroom suite has electric shower over. The very spacious double bedroom has dressing table / stool, wardrobe and 19" TV/DVD. The twin room has 2 full size single beds and 19" TV/DVD. All towels are provided and toilet rolls, soap, and kitchen cloths.
All electric is included and beds made up for your arrival.

Wherry and Albion cottages can be booked individually or together for a larger group or family. They are neighbours in the perfect position within the Peninsula Cottages to enjoy river and garden views from both front and back, and both have views along the river to the iconic Wroxham Bridge. With their own private mooring (45ft x 12ft) right outside the double-glazed French doors you can hire a day or picnic boat for a few days, or even bring your own boat. Wake up to the gentle sound of the river wildlife and enjoy breakfast sitting on your private raised, covered South-East facing private terrace overlooking the river. A sun-trap in the morning and offering shade in the evening. We have just installed (for 2020) a 3m x 2.5m wind out awning to protect you from the rain or Sun while you enjoy a bar-b-q at your own private picnic table, or your bistro table for 2. Take a stroll around the private marina gardens for a drink in the marina's own pub, The Shed (check its seasonal opening time) just across the car park from your cottage. Free parking for 1 car in private parking space behind a secure automatic barrier, and additional free parking for up to 2 more cars by prior arrangement. You can park by a well-lit flat, level covered walkway just a few steps from your front door.

A 5 minute walk around the sightseeing tour boats brings you to Wroxham Bridge, from which you can look back to your cottage across the river. Book your sightseeing boat tour here, or take a day boat for a self-drive trip around Wroxham and Wroxham Broad, or go down river to Horning to stop for a riverside pub lunch or picnic. Stay in Wroxham and visit the many riverside pubs, restaurants and cafes, or pick up a takeaway or visit the local supermarket for your self-catering needs. Roy's supermarket claims to be the "largest village supermarket in the World". Visit the gift and souvenir shops. Go on the Bure Valley Steam Railway for a nostalgic trip to Aylsham. When you've had enough, back to the cottage to sit outside and simply watch the entertainment of all the boats passing by and trying to negotiate the notoriously low bridge. As the evening comes in enjoy the view of the lights on the opposite river bank glistening off the water.

Don't forget, you're home-from-home. So sit back and watch your favourite programmes on your 32' TV / DVD (Freeview). At the end of the day enjoy a nice shower in the recently (2020 season) refurbished bathroom. Albion bathroom was refurbished in Nov 2019 to have a walk-in cubicle shower and new white pedestal basin and w.c. (see photos for how it looks now.). All rooms have thermostatically controlled wall-mounted electric heaters, and living room has a brand new remote controlled thermostatic electric coal-effect fire. All hot water and electric is now included in the price. Beds will be made up with clean linen for your arrival, and each guest is provided with a hand and bath towel.

The cottage is available all year round for family holidays and fishing breaks, and so is also well equipped for the colder winter days. The spacious entrance porch / cloakroom is ideal for storing wet fishing tackle or boating gear.
The cottages are available individually but are ideal to be booked together for a larger family or group up to 8 people, connected only by the outside covered porch between the front doors. This is a unique offering within the Peninsula Cottages Estate. Book a week (7 nights) to get at least a 20% discount on nightly prices. (4 nights minimum)

Great location shame about the property 😫
The location of the property is first class although the general appearance & interior leaves a lot to be desired, I don’t think it’s been refurbished since the 70s on the first day my husband sat in one of the chairs & a leg broke, the settee wasn’t comfortable at all as it was a bed settee which was like sitting on the floor! The bed had springs sticking out of it, the plastic bath/shower mat was mouldy, etc etc, this cottage has so much potential but alas the owner isn’t prepared to update the fixtures & fittings, what a shame. All in all we were very disappointed!!

I originally bought for family use in 2007, having loved the Norfolk Broads since my childhood. We then bought the next door cottage in 2016 and now offer both individually or as one for larger family / fishing groups

Why they chose this property

Best location on the Norfolk Broads. Views of Wroxham Bridge and River Bure from 3 aspects and fishing / mooring right outside the door.

What makes this property unique

Unique position within the Peninsula Cottages private holiday Estate. The best views, with fishing and mooring outside the door
