Very nice!
The home is beautiful. The surrounding property is gorgeous! The house has more than enough room for many people without feeling crowed. The range is a dream. The hosts are wonderful and quick to respond! A couple slight drawbacks. I am sure it is listed somewhere but I missed it. The need to replenish all you use. I am not use to that. When we arrived, we needed to buy soap for both bathrooms and kitchen sink. Toilet paper was very limited as were the paper towels. The store is close so replacing was easy - just unexpected. All other vrbo places we have stayed in (and that is many) are fully stocked. The host did bring over garbage bags since we could not find any. Loved our stay in Scotland!

Perfect Holiday Cottage
This was the perfect cottage for our “home base” in the highlands. We had many day trips all over the Highlands and loved coming back to the cottage each evening. The observatory room was our favorite room - anytime of the day. The views from the cottage were amazing from any window. The facilities were great. We prepared our meals for day trips in the amazing kitchen and were able to pack light due to having a washer & dryer. I hope to come back & stay here again on our next trip!

Truly Amazing!
We decided on Scotland for a vacation to commemorate our 30th wedding anniversary, as Scotland has been on our travel list for a long time. Since we enjoy landscapes, nature, country scenes, more so than cityscapes, we started looking for lodging opportunities out away from the city. Through various searches on the internet I ended up on VRBO.com and quickly found a number of nice, affordable rentals. The pictures and reviews of Westlodge were all it took to convince us to make reservation. Upon arrival to the cottage we were simply awestruck. Just like you always experience with pictures-vs-reality, as beautiful as the pictures were, the property and house were significantly more lovely than any picture could capture. The setting is so peaceful and relaxing that you feel immediately welcome and comfortable. The landscaping has been thoughtfully put together and is maintained to a very high standard, truly amazing selection of plants. It only got better when we went inside! We found a house that was perfectly appointed with EVERYTHING you could possibly need. Every room is spacious and comfortable and the kitchen is simply fantastic, with literally every dish, pot, pan, appliance you would ever have in your own kitchen. The sunroom…… my favorite room of the house….. was the perfect spot for coffee/tea in the morning, as well as where I spent every night winding down, reviewing pictures from our day’s travel, and planning our next day’s adventure. I could go on and on about the inside and outside of the house and property and the level of detail that Roland and his family have provided (Like the trunk FULL of clothing, slippers, hats, jackets, etc in the upstairs bedroom, or the radiant heated flooring in the kitchen). Westlodge is truly the very best place we have ever stayed on any vacation. Roland made the entire process easy and everything worked fantastic, from the booking through the stay. With that said, I always believe in room for improvement in any situation so I had to come up with something that could be better. The only thing I could think of was the chairs in the kitchen could use some felt pads under the legs so they are not so loud on the floor. Seriously, this tongue-in-cheek improvement is all I could think of. We could not have been happier!
