The historic 1858 Victorian Italianate was recently renovated as documented in the new television series "Miss INNdependent".

Enjoy the charm of historic Excelsior. The Guest House, is the perfect rental for larger groups with room for up to 23 guests. Our home is steps away from fine dining, shopping and beautiful Lake Minnetonka! We are located along a bike trail that travels east to Minneapolis or West through beautiful regional parks. You will sure to leave your stay with us relaxed and refreshed!

The home is just two blocks from scenic Lake Minnetonka in the lakeside village of Excelsior, MN. Just twenty minutes from the Minneapolis. The home overlooks downtown Excelsior’s popular Water Street, selected as one of the sixteen “best main streets in America” by Parade Magazine. Excelsior Bay is the perfect point of departure for a fun getaway weekend, special occasion, romantic escape or a refreshing change of pace for the business traveler.

• All guests must be over the age of 25, unless part of a family unit. Verification may be required.
• All check-ins are contactless! To provide this service, we require a selfie of you holding your ID to verify your identity prior to check-in. No exception.
• Bookings made within 10 days of arrival will require additional credit card documentation.
• Our Rental Agreement must be signed prior to arrival. This will require your email address. Please inquire about the terms and conditions prior to booking. More info can be found on the Minnestay website, under Guest Services - Rental Policies.
• Minnestay uses a third-party to screen the identity and check criminal databases for all guests in order to confirm a reservation. Guests will be required to complete the screening by responding to an email sent by the third-party. Complete terms regarding guest screening can be found on the Safely website, under Terms.
• No smoking inside of the home.
• This property may have a noise monitoring device on the interior of the home. Additional noise monitoring devices may be located in gathering spaces on the exterior of the home, as well.
• This property does allow events for up to 50 people (including guests staying at the home) with prior authorization. An event fee of $850 will be charged.
• No pets allowed!
• Please respect the home and clean up after yourself!
• Quiet Hours: 10PM-7AM. We love our neighbors!! Please be respectful of the permanent residents on either side of this property.
• Direct bookings or other online booking sources may be subject to a 3% cancellation fee.

Wonderful family time!

The house was perfect for a Christmas family gathering. A complete kitchen and bedrooms for everyone. The location right in the heart of Excelsior was great for shopping, restaurants, etc.

Lovely Stay

I had our leadership stay for a 2 day strategic meeting and the house and amenities were amazing. We loved having the bedrooms with their own on-suite. Everyone at our meeting said it was the best place ever. Thank you

Great for our large family!

We rented this beautiful house and added carriage house for our large family to attend my mom’s 90th Birthday celebration. We had 13 adults and 8 children - age 4 to 17. Really liked the layout and decor. Kitchen was great and had just about everything we needed. Kids loved the “secret stairway!” Because of the snow and cold, we were unable to take advantage of the outdoor areas 😢. We Needed extra sheets and towels because of the kids, which we couldn’t find on site. Property manager was very quick to respond to all questions and needs, but for $750 cleaning fee I expected it to be cleaner. It was about a 8/10 and there was a couple of things that needed to be fixed. ( 1 slow draining sink, loud noise from toilet after flushing which actually woke you up if used in the middle of the night, picture frame that fell off the wall and another that was about to, and the griddle for the amazing stove needs oiling.) Some things we told the manager about and some we just took care of ourselves, including clearing the snow from the stairs and walkway to the back door and Carriage house. It would have been nice to have rock salt because the outdoor steps were very icy. Because of the elevation and stairs, I would not recommend it for very elderly with mobility issues. Considering all factors, it worked great for us and there were little extras that were nice - a bottle of wine and note, personal bathroom items and lots of coffee, which we needed! The location was outstanding! Plenty of amazing restaurants within walking distance, shopping is great and several nice parks in the area. We would love to come back when it’s warmer weather. Overall, I would give it a 9/10 with management response of 10/10.
