Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

Tucked away on a quiet lane in Cubert, a small village on the North Coast of Cornwall, this cottage is just the place to recharge your batteries. Once a piggery and hay barn, many of the original features are still inside, from the vaulted timber beam ceilings to the exposed stonework. But old-world charm is not all that's on offer – with underfloor heating, rainfall showers and a sleek high-spec kitchen, creature comforts abound. Our favourite spot has to be the balcony, where you can enjoy a morning coffee or an evening sundowner whilst admiring the sweeping countryside views. The garden is the perfect spot to bask in the sunshine – sprawl out on the lounge chairs with a good book or fire up the grill and tuck into an alfresco meal in the fresh air. Best of all is the location. Stroll through the green orchards towards the village, home to a beloved 16th-century pub and a few coffee shops. When you're in the mood for a beach day, hop in the car and drive five minutes to Holywell Bay, a haven for exceptional surfing, sandy beaches and excellent restaurants.

Home truths

You'll want a car to explore the coast – there's ample on-site parking

Dogs are welcome (unfortunately no cats), but a charge of £50 per pet per stay/week will be applicable and required before your stay – your host will arrange this with you after booking confirmation

This home has an upside-down layout – the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms are on the ground floor, while the living area is on the first floor to make the most of the views

The two single beds can link together to form a king-sized bed on request

If you'd like to dine at the pub in town, you'll need to book in advance as it's a popular spot – it's also closed during the winter, so plan accordingly

Keen surfers will appreciate the on-site surfboard storage
