To be in the pink means to be 'in extremely good health and spirits' and that’s how you’ll surely feel after a stay at this distinctive ‘Suffolk Pink’ holiday home. Located deep in the rural heart of the county, the cottage dates back to the 15th century, and original features like walls strutted with timber beams and a bake house will provide an atmospheric backdrop to your time here. It’s got everything you need for a country escape. The cottagey kitchen is cosy and welcoming, a roaring wood burner adds warmth and relaxation to the living room and the beds are made up with high-quality, Egyptian-cotton linens. Outside, you’ll find nearly an acre of private gardens, with a terrace for outdoor dining, a wood-fired pizza-oven-slash-barbecue, summer house and kitchen garden. At harvest time you can pick your own apples from the trees to make crumble, drizzled with cream from the local farm. If you can bring yourself to leave your home from home, the nearby medieval pub serves great grub, there are plenty of walks from your front door and it’s only an hour up to the big-name resort towns of the Suffolk coast like Aldeburgh and Southwold.

About Suffolk

Seaside towns with pastel Victorian villas, a rambling coastline with clifftop walks, and undulating countryside studded with stately homes is what Suffolk is all about. In Southwold, a Victorian pier juts out into the sea and the smell of fresh fish and chips floats on the sea air. Aldeburgh makes the most of river and sea, where colourful rowboats drift down the river Alde, and the seafront is lined with...
