MONKS RETREAT
This beautifully furnished holiday apartment provides a hideaway for couples.

Just a 4-minute walk to the magnificent Minster and the heart of the vibrant city, with it's fine shops and restaurants, street entertainers and riverside bars. York 's historic buildings, ancient walls, gardens, river cruises and delightful tangle of narrow streets which make it a pleasure just to wander and relax.
The central location means that you don't need the car as all the attractions are within walking distance, many of our guests never move the car during their stay. If you do have a car you can visit Yorkshires two National Parks or the Yorkshire coast and see the countryside in the day while having your choice of all York's fine restaurants at night. Free parking is provided in a gated car park just a minutes walk away, you can bring the car to the front door to load and unload.
We try and think of everything you will need, even down supplying dressing gowns for your use. We welcome babies and we can provide a travel cot and highchair at no extra cost. Please ask if you have any special needs or requests.
Monks Retreat has a full sized Sainsbury's just two minutes walk away so you don't have the hassle of packing groceries to bring with you, you can just shop as you need to.

A beautiful apartment close to all of the amenities of York. The owners could not have been more helpful. Would certainly want to stay here again.

Nice flat in ideal location

My husband and I rented the flat for a week vacation in October. We got a warm welcome from Mary who met us at the gate. The flat is exactly as described and is just outside the city walls. Quiet and well equipped and the scones and tea welcome was highly appreciated after a long journey. For a couple wanting to enjoy York it is exactly what you need for a comfy stay.

Monks Retreat is a real treat.

Once again Mary & Philip made us most welcome, Lovely apartment spotlessly clean and everything you could wish for. Ideal location ,everything within walking distance never used the car all week. we shall return next year.
