About this property

4* Cottage on a traditional Scottish farm with Highland & Galloway cattle.

West Ferlochan is a well appointed 4 star traditional Scottish hill farm cottage in Benderloch. Our cottage, near Oban, is in a tranquil location close to Loch Creran. It is situated by the A828 Oban/Fort William road and therefore provides excellent access to the best of the West Highlands and a whole range of recreational facilities. Just a 20 minute drive to Oban - " the Gateway to the Isles" or a 50 minute drive to Fort William - described as "the outdoor capital of the UK".

On the first floor there are two main bedrooms, each with 6ft beds (which can be divided into twins if required) with views overlooking the farm and onto the two small lawns to the front and rear of the cottage. Both rooms have Smart HD Ready LED TV's on the wall as well as vanity dressing tables. The first floor bathroom has a bath with a shower unit, hand basin and WC.

Downstairs there is a small children's bedroom with twin 2'6" beds (which can be made into a double bed if required). There is a bathroom with a shower cubicle, hand wash basin and WC.

The kitchen/diner is fully equipped with utensils, pots and pans, filter coffee machine, electric oven and hob, microwave, sink, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. There is a docking station for iPod/iPhone. The dining table seats 6 comfortably.

The lounge sits six in comfort. There is an open fireplace and a 40" satellite Freeview TV with WiFi throughout the cottage.

There is a good sized utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, twin Belfast sink, boot storage and coat hanging space, which is ideal for the Scottish Highlands.

Guests have the sole use of the two small lawns to the front and rear of the cottage. We have outside table and chairs and an egg chair for our guests.

There are many walks to be had on the farm from almost sea level up to the top of Sguir Mor - the owner's Mount Everest! From here you will have spectacular views of Loch Creran, Mull and mountain views towards Ben Nevis.

The accommodation will be ready after 4pm on the day of arrival and must be departed by 10am on the day of departure.

WHAT A FIND
From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a good choice. It was really clean, cosy, spacious. Amanda had thought of absolutely everything. We loved the situation, so very near to the loch, and very peaceful, only the cows calling when the farmer arrived to feed them. Very Highly recommended. Hope to return one day.

Beautiful place in the wilderness
This is one of the best accommodations we've ever been to. The house is located on a farm, you can see all the animals, you can walk around and explore the beautiful surroundings like the mountain stream up the hill and the beautiful Scottish cows. It's perfect for trips to Glencoe, Glenfinnan, Oban, famous Eilan Donnan Castle, Fort William, Fort Augustus (Loch Ness) and even Isle of Skye if you leave early. The house is very nice, very clean and there's everything you need in the kitchen and bathrooms. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed. We'll be back one day.

Excellent Host
Beautiful cottage with a beautiful view. Excellently host and friendly. Allowed us to pet the animals and walk around the farm. Clean and spacious rooms. The kids enjoyed the walk and close by shops about. Great location and not far from fort William and other beautiful sights. There is a beautiful beach 5min drive. Thank you, it was a pleasure staying there.

A home from home
The house is beautiful, clean and very welcoming. Amanda, your pa, Willie was very helpful and lovely to talk. Because we lived in this area for nearly 19 years it was great to come back. I knew the lady who lived here before. Thank you for making my daughter's wedding week special for us.
