Once a humble farmhouse on Mount Etna's fertile soils, this property has been renovated using eco-friendly materials to become a really rather remarkable Sicilian getaway. Surrounded by verdant countryside and the Mediterranean Sea twinkling in the distance, you'll feel instantly at peace, especially when you're gliding through the saltwater swimming pool, catching some rays out on the terrace or playing on the football pitch. Although it's fair to say that this is a home in which a sizeable amount of time is sure to be passed out in the open air, there's plenty to like about the interior, too. The design is a handsome mixture of rustic elements and contemporary flourishes — a combination best seen in the lower-ground stone-walled spa area complete with a sauna, Jacuzzi, hammam and salt grotto. There's even a gym room in case you feel the need to keep up with your fitness regimen. With this much happening at the home, you may well find that you have no reason to leave, but there are lots of options for days out in the local area. The green hillsides of Mount Etna Park lie just behind the address and the centre of Catania only takes forty minutes or so to reach in the car.
