Warm cozy hotel with an excellent view. The hot stone bath after the tigers nest hike was a wonderful experience.

The best thing in Paro!
Gangtey Palace was the highlight of our 6 day trip without a doubt! The entire hotel has fantastic views from every window with a gorgeous veranda and patio overlooking the valley, without being too far away from the town center. The staff were incredibly sweet, kind, resourceful, and hospitable. Food was phenomenal and the boutique rooms were cosy, clean, and spacious. They had two heaters for the room and one for the bathroom which kept us nice and warm even during the winter nights. 10/10 would recommend. Would love to go back for a short solo trip soon to spend some alone time, knowing I'll be safe and well taken care of!

Rundown place rather than a Palace
-Instead of a 237 sq feet (22 sq meters), we got a small dingy 100-120 sq feet room where we can barely walk without bumping in to furniture -Instead of a Double Bed we got Twin beds. When we asked for a double bed, we were shown a room which required climbing 3 narrow wooden staircases and room linen looked in pretty bad shape . When we asked for other options we were told that hotel is fully booked so we compromised for the smaller room with twin beds. We felt being cheated since we didn't come thru one of the local tour operators. Internet - Free WiFi was provided only after asking for it No in-room Entertainment - Flat-screen TV was not available Food & Drink - No intercom in rooms so for room service we had to walk down a small wodden staircase. Bottled water was provided , glasses in the room were not washed / cleaned for ages Bathroom - Private bathroom, free toiletries were below par and included dental floss and tablets left by previous guests. Washbasin platform and water outlet was broken. Comfort - Daily housekeeping is just average PS: We have a video of the room and its poor upkeep

Pls book with more reliable agent like agoda
This hotel is non-existent (the local guide said that it has been converted into a school since covid) and we only found out when we arrived at night and the property was closed with no one around. Hotels.com still took our money... and refused to refund despite many attempts to explain the situation.
