The bad 1 It tried too hard to be Harry Potter. 2 The first part 1 to part 3 are too slow. 3 In the beginning Callum is the most unlikable from part 1 to end of part 6. Good 1 The characters are developed.

Wasn’t crazy about this book. Got 3/4 of the way thru and still didn’t know the plot. It was all interactions of the characters. I gave up and moved on to another book.

I’m an avid reader, and hard to please. This book sucked me in from the beginning. It’s the start of a trilogy, the second book, the atlas Parodox, was just released. The first book is very character based and works on building this world for the readers. If you aren’t interested in that then you might not enjoy it. I found the writing so unique and I was so sucked into the story each time I picked the book up to read. Very excited to read the second book in the trilogy!

Atlas Six is dark academia meets inception with a dash of mutant powers. I love the idea. I love the premise. This is a very philosophical read. Which, I really enjoyed. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea. It's written like a philosophy lecture. It's not nearly as pretentious as other people make it out to be. I do like the way this author writes. It's very.... look at my right hand, while my left hand robs you. I read enough that I knew what Olivie Blake was doing, so I guessed quite a bit of this. But some was definitely a surprise. It's hard to surprise me in books. Our book follows six main characters. Libby- I like to think of as Nervous Nelly. She's extremely powerful, yet second guesses herself every step of the way. She's the type to need validation. In real life, I'd probably make fun of her. But in a book, I kinda like her. Nico- Libby's frenemy and constant competition. I was kinda rooting for a Nico/Libby romance. But alas, it did not go that way. Parisa- She's my fave. I love her. She's confident. She's insightful. Thoughtful. She really has a grasp on human behavior. She's progressive. We'd be BFFs in real life. I'm sure of it. Tristan-I'm indifferent with Tristian. He felt a little clingy to me. But I was pleasantly surprised at the ménage à trois. Callum- I love Callum. I realize he's supposed to be this cold, calloused a$$hole. But I love him. He'd be my pick for a love interest. He can influence people in ways others can't. He could be a much worse person and he doesn't get the credit he deserves. His powers are very stigmatized. Reine-Given the circumstances of the world in this novel, I'm BAFFLED Reine isn't utilized more. I really expected more from this character. My only complaint is the fact I listened to this book for TWO AND A HALF HOURS and still was learning basic character intros and world building with no plot. The plot came later, but that was a very, very, very long intro. A+ on uniqueness. A+ on worldbuilding. Sorry so many reviewers don't give it the chance it deserves.

This book is the poster child of amateur hour. Every other word is something from a dictionary, a weird sort of metaphor imprinted in every single sentence, as if the author was trying way too hard to sound professional and super educated. It’s a book of complete nonsensical words thrown together out of a dictionary, and while I understand every word without needing to reference a dictionary, it nevertheless made this book insufferable to get through. In fact, I only got past the first chapter and I couldn’t stop laughing at how ridiculous the wording is. I should’ve known not to bother with a self published novel, but I’m open minded and willing to give it a try. Big mistake. I truly hate this book with a passion. I feel like the author needs to stop writing and I’m baffled it is being made into a TV program. I mean… aware we THAT far gone and desperate for entertainment today? It’s not at all interesting or gripping. It’s a huge yawn, and a slap in the face for anyone that pays money to have a go at this one. It’s absolutely boring. The characters are not likeable, they’re either below mediocre, unrealistic, egotistical or plain whiney and self centered. These are supposed to be adults graduating but they act like nine year olds in school. When they’re not acting like none hear olds, they’re speaking in tongues as if they’re the most extreme lost philosophical causes there ever was. I couldn’t stand the ridiculous quotes. They make absolutely no sense, there is nothing mind blowing about them. I know this is a harsh review but I wished I’d been honestly forewarned before bothering with this book.
