"Compellingly artful . . . a] blockbuster memoir."--The New Yorker (Best Books of the Year)

Shocked

My Mother loved the royal family. She knew about them from why back several hundred years. She told me so much I should have written it all down. She has passed away so I now tend to be drawn not only to the Royals in England but all over the world.. There are many. I bought this book at for 75% off. I read in 3 days. Shocked is my only word to think of for this book. Harry was born Royal with the world at his finger tips. He is very educated. It is well written. But to drag his family name and heritage through the mud was wrong. He feels slighted by William because as he states "He will be King some day" His time in the military is very interesting, on point most of it. But he feels sorry for himself. When Meghan comes in to the picture it is very sad, She tried to change Royal Rules. If you are a fan of the Royals you may find it interesting. I wish I had enjoyed it more. Enjoy the book, The Queen, of course was my favorite character in the book.

Loved it.

I love that we can finally hear the prospective of what he went through and his story in depth!

Spare is a must read!

I loved “Spare” -- finally the truth from Prince Harry’s voice. It made me laugh, cry and seethe with anger! I adored Meghan and Harry’s love story. These two are the real deal and the love comes through in “Spare”. I was incensed by how the paps have treated Harry, Meghan, and the rest of the royal family for YEARS! But I was also incensed that Camilla’s PR group was allowed - by Charles and the old Royal Regime - to throw Harry under the bus at any and all times as a distraction when someone else higher up was being naughty. In reading about his time at Eaton, I wondered if Harry was ever tested for learning disabilities -- stupid people don’t become good military pilots -- but he could have had a disability that hindered him from learning in a “normal” school environment. Of course, the outdated Royal Regime would not have him tested as it is far worse to show he has a learning disability instead of simply not being the smart one! The difference in treatment of Will and Harry was very obvious and Harry was constantly reminded throughout his life that as the Spare, he just did not matter. Just sad. Diana knew this and commented on it in one of her interviews. That being said, Harry wound humor through the book. The time he ended up with a frostbitten “Todger” while trekking one of the poles is just hilarious. Also, when Prince Harry’s team was on military training, they were wet and cold and had to stop for the night. They decided to spoon each other for warmth, “Sorry mate is that your hand?” Too funny. I believe Harry as he has lost so much by publishing this book but was tired of the lies at the hands of the paps and Buckingham Palace! He is his mother’s son and I commend him for doing such a brave thing. Highly recommend this book.

So great

I’ve never been a Royal follower. It’s nice to see a book that’s down to earth and talks about a younger man who has gone through so much trauma and come out the other side. Harry is funny, self deprecating, brave and loves his family. Despite the current Royals inability to support him -even when he was very young, he only found real love and acceptance from his mother who was then taken away so suddenly. Harry has made something of himself and continues to prioritize his own little family -way to break the cycle!
