In the middle of the quaint Northamptonshire village of Maidford lies this lovingly renovated Georgian rectory ideal for large family getaways. Each room tells a different story, with unique finds ranging from antique plates to watchful bird art and even a crocodile in the downstairs loo – a model one, don't be alarmed! At every turn, this stunning home manages to surpass expectations. In the ten acres of grounds surrounding the property, you'll discover a heated swimming pool, a barbecue, a huge alfresco dining area and manicured gardens where you can escape for a moment's peace. Say hello to the bantam chickens wandering about, too – they're sure to be firm friends by the end of your stay. There's even a games room so you can start up a table tennis tournament or practise your putting on the mini-green. When you fancy a day out, the stately home and gardens at Canons Abbey are twenty minutes away in the car, while the ears of motorsports fans are certain to prick up when they hear the journey to Silverstone's hallowed circuit takes about half that time.
